Group cohesiveness develops through play, and ball games often create emotional trauma as they turn into “sports”. This accessible circus workshop aims to challenge the general perception of how to “play ball”, and to turn the perceived failure of “dropping the ball” into an opportunity. With structure and guidance, we use simple circus props in an ever increasing complexity to challenge everyone individually, and as a group. Through play and flow we develop hand eye coordination, spatial awareness, cross lateral physical movement, and to work collaboratively in a group. This is a juggling workshop that searches to find the space in time.
This workshop is suitable for all ages from 5 to 95. We can work with all abilities as we believe that circus arts are accessible to all. It's also an excellent corporate team building activity that promotes and develops group cohesiveness.
Accessible Circus workshops use juggling balls, rings and scarves to introduce people to the benefits of Circus Arts in a fun, non-competitive environment that promotes physical literacy, and is adaptable for all abilities or physical limitations.
We come to your office, school or event, and provide all the necessary equipment. We can work in conference rooms, office common areas, school gyms, resource centres, and outdoor areas (weather dependent). For example, the workshop was adapted for an age-action group, and for wheelchair users.
